River Rapids Block Club has been active for over three years. They hold their meetings at Wrobel Towers, 800 Niagara Avenue, on the fourth Wednesday of every month. They have educational and community speakers at every meeting. This month the Border Patrol will be present. Homemade refreshments are served at each meeting.
Officers of the River Rapids Block Club attend all Niagara Falls Block Club Council events and meetings. They belong to the Niagara Beautification Commission and have participated in the last two "Beautify Niagara" clean ups working around the Wrobel Towers area. Their club has planted flowers in this area also.
The Club also participates in the Freedom Trail Festival with a booth and they assist the Niagara Falls Housing Authority in every way possible to keep tenants safe by providing education in crime prevention and safety through the Niagara Falls Police Department and the Niagara Falls Fire Department.
Theire president, Betty Rivers, recently received the Good Neighbor Award from Tops Market on the Iney Wallens Show.
