To all in the city of Lockport,

              I have had enough of the youth running and ruining this city. I have sat by quietly trying to fix the problems from within block clubs. Block clubs do not work with-out the support of the police which I feel; no I know we do not fully have. So you now have one angry mother to deal with.

Who is in control of the city? It sure is not you Mayor and it’s not the Chief of the Lockport police department, you want to know who it is. It the youths that run this city and they know it and are proud of it. I hear them speak of this while they brag to their friends about how they got talked to by Lockport’s finest or the judge let them go and no one can stop them “cuz they the shi!!” quoted from them. They laugh in your faces they own this city and its time we band together and take our City back.

We moved to Lockport nine years ago thinking that Lockport was an up-and-coming city, full of potential for a wonderful life. I was young and so wrong in that move. I am not going to put my hard earned money into my home anymore, I am putting my hard earned money into a new house in a new town before I lose more money, if things do not change in this city fast.

I have three young children that get to sit on the front porch (which is located by the corner of Allen and Washington) and watch drug deals go down, youths fighting and swearing at adults and I struggle everyday to teach them this is wrong and they always come back with “If it’s so wrong mommy then why aren’t the police stopping them?” What do I say to this? How do I enforce the right behavior in my children, when no one else does it for the whole city? My children fear going to bed at night because the youths are running amuck and no one will come to stop it. My middle son who is nine crumbles every time my husband leaves and its dark out for fear that something will happen to the house or the family while he is gone. So my son waits up patrolling only the lighted rooms in the house for fear of what is leering in the dark, he will not walk by the windows or doors at night for fear that a youth is going to grab him thru it. I don’t have to tell my children to be in by dark or when the street lights come on they fear leaving after four in the afternoon because that’s when the youths come out. The cars speed up and down the road with the radios blaring at all hours of the night yelling out the windows to their friends standing on the corner selling drugs. It’s amazing no child has been hit and killed by one of these vehicles. The police drive by during the day on occasion. However, this is when the youths are asleep from being up all-night causing trouble, and at night no police in sight. I spend hundreds of dollars each spring just on my garden to make the street and house look nice. Why bother when these youths just ruin with no punishment. The youths have won and run this city and they think they are unstoppable; we need to show them this is not true and take back our City now.

If things do not change soon you will have a city completely ruined by wayward youths and City full of vigilantes protecting all they have. Gun owning citizen ready to protect and stop this insanity is the last thing you want. A lot of the neighbors are to this point and beyond. So for the safety and sanity of all involved we’ve got to stop this and hold the parents along with the youth more responsible for their actions. Please help save our City before it’s too late.
